Ultimate Airport Parking Guide

(SFO) San Francisco International Airport

San Fran is a super popular tourist destination and a vibrant city to visit if you like food, culture, and history. The Bay Area can be pricy so finding deals and planning ahead for airport parking might be a good call.

The aiport itself is one of the major entry and departure points for passengers traveling to or from Europe and Asia. It is the largest airport in Northern California so give yourself plenty of time to navigate parking and the crowds when you travel through.

    Airport owned & operated lots

Airport-owned lots are expensive at SFO but they are the closest option to the airport in case you are short on time. The hourly lot not too much more per day than the long-term lot. For quick pick-ups and drop-offs, there is a cell phone lot that is free for up to an hour.

Electric Vehicle Charging: San Fran is a very green city so it's not suprising that you can find EV chargers in every garage at clearly marked spots. Charge Point plug-in stalls are available at close-in spots marked "Green Vehicle Parking" for Level 1 (must bring your own cable) or Level 2 charging.

    Hotel lots

Hotel lots allow you to park at nearby hotels and the hotel shuttle takes you to the airport.

Before using hotel lots, I’d recommend you read more about how these lots work on my guide to airport parking, particularly the section on hotel lots here.

If you are able to use hotel parking, you may be able to find a great rate. Last I checked, prices ranged from $5 - $30 per day with the best rates found at BestParking and Way.
