JFK Airport Parking Options

John F. Kennedy International Airport

If you're flying to New York, you have a few airport options and JFK is the busiest of the NYC area airports. It's actually the 6th busiest airport in the US and busiest international airport which is fairly obvious if you've ever passed through. There are 6 operating airline terminals, 4 runways and 128 aircraft gates and even features another temrinal exclusively for pets (although this is rumored to be close to shutting down).

Given the high costs of parking in New York City, it is not surprising that parking rates at JFK are some of the most expensive I've seen. If you plan ahead, you may be able to save some money for long term parking.

IMPORTANT: Parking options are changing frequently due to COVID. Be sure to check with the place you plan to park to verify prices and that they are open.

    Hotel lots

Hotel lots allow you to park at nearby hotels and the hotel shuttle takes you to the airport.

Before using hotel lots, I’d recommend you read more about how these lots work on my guide to airport parking, particularly the section on hotel lots here.

If you are able to use hotel parking, you may be able to find a great rate. Last I checked, JFK hotel parking ranged from $6 - $30 per day with the best rates found at On Air Parking, Way.com, and instaPark.

Depending on the lot you choose to park at the airport and the duration and the lot you choose, the rate of the parking lot ranges from $6 for a half-hour, $4 each additional 1/2 hour or part thereof, with a maximum of $36 to $42 of short-term parking. Meanwhile, you’ll pay $26 per day for valet long-term parking. While long-term parking starts at $20 per day.

If you want to ditch parking fees at JFK Airport, you may use the cell phone lot located at the entrance. Drivers must remain with their vehicles at all times while waiting for the passenger they are picking up.

Generally, the cheapest parking depends on your needs. The parking rates at the Green, Orange, and Red Parking lots are $6 per the first 30 minutes and $8 per hour, with a daily maximum of $36. For long-term parking, the cheapest option would be Parking Lot 9 where the parking fee is $18 per day.
