JFK Airport Parking Options

John F. Kennedy International Airport

John F. Kennedy International Airport is the 6th busiest airport in the US and the 20th busiest international airport in the world, which is fairly evident if you've ever been there.

Currently, JFK has six terminals: 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, and 8. There are 128 gates for planes and 4 runways.

Even though it opened as New York International Airport, the airport was known as Idlewild Airport. It was later renamed after President John F. Kennedy.

The airport is in the middle of its JFK Redevelopment program, and by 2023, modern facilities should be ready for use.

Given how much parking costs in New York City, it's not surprising that JFK has some of the most expensive parking rates in the US. You might be able to save some money on long-term parking if you plan ahead.

Yes. There are marked parking spaces for customers with restricted mobility available in each parking lot near the terminal entrance, subject to availability. The daily maximum is $29 for these spots and to get this discount you must press the "Help" button and/or talking with the attendant at exit.

American Airlines is located in Terminal 8 at JFK. As the biggest terminal at JFK, Terminal 8 is split into two concourses, Concourse B housing gates 1-16 and Concourse C housing gates 31-47. Concourse C is a longer walk, so plan accordingly. If you want to shop or eat while waiting for your flight, the main hall just beyond security on the third level of the terminal is your best bet. So if you’ve got time, stop on the way rather than waiting to get to you gate.

Delta Airlines is located in Terminals 2 and 4 at JFK. While Terminal 2 at JFK is quite small and has a limited access to dining and shopping options, Terminal 4 is quite large and offers an array of options. Check with your airline before starting your travel day at JFK to know what your wait-time will entail. These two Terminals are both located in the southeast corner of JFK, so park accordingly. Keep in mind that these two terminals have 2 different parking lots available, as well.

JetBlue Airlines is located in Terminal 5 at JFK. JetBlue hosts a rooftop terrace for passengers that includes a children’s area and is a great place to await your flight if you’ve got the time. In the terminal itself has a slew of options that will make you want to arrive hours ahead of your flight. From nap pods to the Be Relax airport spa to two separate children’s play space areas, it has everything you need to pass the time.

United Airlines is located in Terminal 7 at JFK. Terminal 7 is the smallest terminal at JFK and as such offers the least in the way of amenities for travelers waiting for their flight. There are only 12 gates in Terminal 7, making it extremely easy to navigate. Recently new expedited security lanes have been opened in Terminal 7 for Clear members. These lanes are apart of a series of services they are trying out to bring in more customers and you can benefit from this test if you are traveling through Terminal 7 at JFK.
