DEN Airport Parking Options

Denver International Airport

Built in 1995 and designed to mimic the mountainous terrain surrounding Denver, DIA is the largest airport in the U.S. by area and the 5th busiest. You should expect long taxiing times as a result of the long runways but at least you can stare at the mountains while you wait. There's also a statue of a blue mustang with glowing red eyes that will greet you just outside the airport (fair warning that it can look creepy at night especially when jet-lagged).

IMPORTANT: Parking options are changing frequently due to COVID. Be sure to check with the place you plan to park to verify prices and that they are open.

    Key takeaways

    • The airport itself seems like it is out in the middle of nowhere so give yourself enough time to drive out, park, and shuttle to the terminal.
    • If you are able to plan ahead and pre-pay, your cheapest option for long-term parking by far is the lot at 61st and Peña. Just give yourself enough time to buy a $9 train ticket to jump on the train for a 11-minute ride to the terminal.
    • The cell phone waiting lot named Final Approach has more amenities than other waiting lots I've seen offering free wi-fi and eateries open from 5:00 - 12:00 AM.
    • Electric vehicle drivers will find 11 Level 1 type unit spots at the 61st and Peña lot as well as some hybrid vehicle spots and 36 electric vehicle EV charging stations located on Level 1 of the East and West parking garages.

    Hotel lots

Hotel lots allow you to park at nearby hotels and the hotel shuttle takes you to the airport.

Before using hotel lots, I’d recommend you read more about how these lots work on my guide to airport parking, particularly the section on hotel lots here.

There are several, reasonably-priced hotel options for parking at DIA. Prices range from $3 - $21 per day.

Depending on the lot you choose to park at the airport, the rate of the parking lot ranges from $3 for an hour in the East or West Garage to $33 per day for valet parking.

DEN airport has the Final Approach cell phone waiting lot where a driver can wait for an arriving passenger for free. Final Approach is located about three miles from Jeppesen Terminal along the north side of Peña Boulevard on 77th Avenue.

Generally, the cheapest parking at DEN is at 61st and Peña. Parking at this lot will cost you $4 per day or $2 per 12 hours. The lot is open 24 hours. However, you have to know that this lot is only available for pre-paying parking.

Yes. The East or West Garage will cost you $5 an hour or $35 a day for valet parking. You can find the valet by following the signs to the Arrivals Level 4 – keep looking on the left.

Denver International Airport has a total of 36 charging stations for electric vehicles on Level 1 of the parking garages. You can easily find these designated spots with the “Electric Vehicle Station” signs. Charging here is free for drivers who are paying the standard parking fee.

Yes. The airport's cell phone waiting lot is called Final Approach and is located about three miles west of the Jeppesen Terminal. You can easily get here via eastbound Peña Boulevard to 75th Avenue and northbound Gun Club Road; westbound Peña Boulevard to Wenatchee Street; or from East 78th Avenue. Keep in mind that waiting at the curbside or the arrivals pick-up area at the terminal is not allowed.

Yes. There are several covered parking options at Denver International Airport. Both Garage East and Garage West offer covered parking for drivers who want to protect their cars from the elements while their vehicles are in the parking lot.

Unfortunately, there’s no dedicated motorcycle parking at DEN. You’ll have to pay the same as cars, both in the garage or external lots. Further, the airport doesn’t accommodate oversized vehicles. However, several off-site parking lots may accommodate these needs.

Yes. You can check parking locations by airlines by checking out this website.

Yes. You can book your parking space in advance via their official parking webpage. There are also offsite parking lots you can use and book your space well in advance:

Unfortunately, Military or Veterans Parking Discount is not available at Denver International Airport. However, many offsite parking lots offer discounts to those who are active service and veterans.

Denver International Airport offers accessible parking spaces at all airport-owned parking facilities. In the East and West parking garages, these spaces are located next to the entrance into Jeppesen Terminal, on garage Levels 1, 2, 4 and 5 (no accessible parking is available on Level 3).
