Ultimate Airport Parking Guide

(DEN) Denver International Airport

Built in 1995 and designed to mimic the mountainous terrain surrounding Denver, DIA is the largest airport in the U.S. by area and the 5th busiest. You should expect long taxiing times as a result of the long runways but at least you can stare at the mountains while you wait. There's also a statue of a blue mustang with glowing red eyes that will greet you just outside the airport (fair warning that it can look creepy at night especially when jet-lagged).

    Airport parking options at DEN

There are lots of on-airport parking options for both short and long-term parking so you won't have a problem finding a spot. If you are able to plan ahead and pre-pay go with the lot at 61st and Peña which has one of the lowest daily rates I've come across for long-term options.

    On-airport lots

Expect to pay $5 / hour for short term and $8 / day at Pikes Peak, the most popular long-term lot.

    3rd party lots

If you're interested in parking at a private lot there are 5 options ranging from $7 - $23.

You can also find hotel parking from as little as $3 and up to $21 per day at one of the many hotel sites listed.

Key takeaways for DEN airport lots

    • The airport itself seems like it is out in the middle of nowhere so give yourself enough time to drive out, park, and shuttle to the terminal.
    • If you are able to plan ahead and pre-pay, your cheapest option for long-term parking by far is the lot at 61st and Peña. Just give yourself enough time to buy a $9 train ticket to jump on the train for a 11-minute ride to the terminal.
    • The cell phone waiting lot named Final Approach has more amenities than other waiting lots I've seen offering free wi-fi and eateries open from 5:00 - 12:00 AM.
    • Electric vehicle drivers will find 11 Level 1 type unit spots at the 61st and Peña lot as well as some hybrid vehicle spots and 36 electric vehicle EV charging stations located on Level 1 of the East and West parking garages.

    Hotel lots

Hotel lots allow you to park at nearby hotels and the hotel shuttle takes you to the airport.

Before using hotel lots, I’d recommend you read more about how these lots work on my guide to airport parking, particularly the section on hotel lots here.

There are several, reasonably-priced hotel options for parking at DIA. Prices range from $3 - $21 per day.
